Everyone of us has each mission in life. That mission, is not easy to do. You have to carefully think and plan on how to achieve it. You have to be aware that in the process of doing it, there will be obstacles. You must be brave enough, therefore, to face all difficulties and challenges that come your way.
Even before we came out from our mother's womb, God already had a mission in mind for us to accomplish. Just like a body with organs and systems that function differently, each one of us has different missions in life too. We may not have realized it before, but as we grow older, our existence will make sense. The reason of our existence will make sense.
As the mystery of our existence slowly unfolds, we also discover things about ourselves and the mission God has planned for us to do. I believe that in each mission, there are also "sub- missions" in every chapter of our lives that will help us understand more about why we are really here at this moment in time.
Chapter 17 of my life: College freshman.
During my first day of school in college, the intensity of my excitement and nervousness combined together was high. I felt like a stranger in a big place and mind you, it was my first time to be "left alone". I didn't know where to go and what to do. What kept me going was the thought that everyone else went through that before and survived so I would do the same and go on.
I could say that my first sub-mission was to learn how to socialize with different kinds of people. I needed to overcome my shyness when it comes to talking to others. Gladly, I did it. So far, in my three-week stay in Iligan, I was able to make friends with other people: especially my roommates and classmates.
Thinking about my next sub-missions, I will do my best to accomplish them all. One, is to study well. However, I don't wanna miss the real world feels in my college years. I believe that learning is not limited to the four walls of the classroom so I wanna get involved in the outside world and learn more. So my next sub-mission is to balance my study life and social life. As the famous quote goes:
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
I couldn't agree more. Too much of everything is bad, so there should be an in between. After keeping my balance, I would then focus next on graduating on time in MSU-IIT. My parents sent me here to study even there's a lot of colleges and universities in Cagayan De Oro City. I will prove to them that their efforts will not be in vain.
After I graduate, my next sub-mission is to find a good job. A job that will fit my chosen course so I would be able to help my family. While doing so, I will save money for the rainy seasons and so that I could travel around the world with my family. Phew!
I would be the happiest person on earth if I can achieve all my sub-missions.
I believe in myself and I just need to stay on track and be reminded that my biggest mission in life is to serve God. If I serve myself, I won't be contented and will keep asking for more but if I serve God and help others, the satisfaction in my heart will remain forever.
